Last Updated: 1st March 2025

1. Introduction

Welcome to the Anvil & Moor website. By accessing or purchasing from this website, you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use this website.

2. Definitions

  • “Anvil & Moor,” “we,” “us,” or “our” refers to the owner of this website.

  • “You” and “your” refer to the user or customer of our website.

  • “Website” refers to the Anvil & Moor eCommerce site located at www.anvilmoor.co.uk.

3. Products and Availability

  • We specialise in handcrafted blacksmith products, including benches, garden furniture, and bespoke commissions.

  • Product descriptions, images, and dimensions are provided for guidance only. As each piece is handcrafted, slight variations may occur.

  • Product availability is subject to change. If an item becomes unavailable after an order is placed, we will notify you as soon as possible.

4. Ordering Process

  • Orders can be placed directly through our website. For bespoke commissions, customers may need to contact us to discuss their requirements before ordering.

  • Once an order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email. This does not constitute acceptance of your order, which is subject to stock availability and payment verification.

  • We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order for any reason, including suspected fraudulent activity.

5. Pricing and Payment

  • All prices are listed in pound sterling and include applicable taxes unless otherwise stated. If the rate of VAT changes between your order date and the date we supply the product, we adjust the rate of VAT that you pay, unless you have already paid in full before the change in the rate of VAT takes effect.

  • We accept payments via Credit Cards, Debit Cards and Bank Transfers.

  • Prices are subject to change at any time. However, once an order is confirmed, the price will remain fixed.

  • Payment must be completed before items are dispatched or work begins on a bespoke order.

6. Shipping and Delivery

  • We aim to dispatch standard orders within 14 working days and bespoke commissions within an agreed timeframe.

  • Delivery times may vary based on location and courier service availability.

  • Shipping costs will be calculated at checkout and are the responsibility of the customer unless stated otherwise.

  • We are not responsible for delays caused by third-party couriers, unforeseen circumstances or events outside out control.

7. Custom Commissions

  • Bespoke orders require prior consultation to discuss design, materials, pricing, and timeframes.

  • Once a design is agreed upon and payment is received, work will commence.

  • Due to the custom nature of commissions, modifications after work has started may not be possible.

  • If we're making or supplying products to measurements you provide, you're responsible for making sure those measurements are correct.

  • We may charge you additional sums if you don't give us information we've asked for about how we can access your property for delivery or installation, or if you don't do preparatory work for installation, as agreed with us.

  • Cancellations of bespoke orders are subject to our Refund Policy.

8. Cancellations and Modifications

  • Orders for standard items may be cancelled or modified before dispatch. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to make changes.

  • Bespoke orders cannot be cancelled once production has begun.

  • For information on returns and refunds, please refer to our Refund Policy.

9. Liability and Warranties

  • We take pride in crafting high-quality products. However, as handmade items, slight variations may occur.

  • We provide no warranties beyond those required by law and, to the extent permitted, we exclude all terms implied by sections 13 to 15 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979. If an item is defective, please contact us for assistance.

  • We are not liable for damage caused by improper use, incorrect installation by anyone other than us, or failure to follow care instructions.

  • If you are a consumer, we are not responsible for losses you suffer if the loss is:

    • unexpected, that is it was not obvious that it would happen and you nothing you said to us before we accepted your order meant we should have expected it (so, in the law, the loss was unforeseeable);

    • caused by a delaying event outside our control; or

    • something you could have avoided by taking reasonable action.

  • If you are a business, then:

    • we will not be liable to you (whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise) for any loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential loss; and

    • our total liability to you for all other losses (whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise) shall be limited to the total sums paid by you to us for products under your contract with us.

  • Nothing in these terms shall limit or exclude our liability for:

    • death or personal injury caused by our negligence;

    • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or

    • any matter in respect of which it would be unlawful for us to exclude or restrict liability.
